This was clearly a bait and switch and they are gambling that the people leaving
1. won't go through the effort of getting a refund
2. won't hurt them long term
There are posts on the steam forum, if you live in the EU, on how to get a refund.
If you have the game on steam make sure you leave a review letting everyone know how you feel. If the reviews are negative and the reputation of the game suffers then maybe that will stop other people from getting sucked in by the duplicitous marketing. I love how they keep telling people to "create any game you want using AI bots" and don't tell anyone that there is no XP for it so you won't get any players to play what you create.
Lastly, remember all the people complaining about "this should be PVP only" and playing against bots shouldn't be allowed...They are the players that FARMED THE BOTS to begin with. They have their guns fully unlocked with scopes and everything. They want to hold onto their advantage and turn everyone else into BOTs they can continue to farm. They want to make sure that they keep their advantage and try to force the PVE community into their matches where they can continue to get the XP they were getting in the farm servers.
I'll close to re-remind every PVE player that stopped playing, the 20% of the player base they lost when they did this...leave your review in Steam to make sure everyone know how you feel when they go to buy the games or the season passes.
