As the title already says, the changes to XP for bot kills should be reverted or adjusted
Why? Quite simple: the game was marketed and sold with the clear intention that normal progression would be possible in the verified Portal mode.
The changes to XP from bot kills contradict this statement and the related product descriptions.
I don’t have enough time to unlock all the attachments in PvP to stay competitive — the same goes for the challenges. Thru my limited time, I already gotin laser beamed thru weapons with full attachments.
Therefore, this description of the product was one of the main reasons I decided to buy the game.
Are XP farm servers with weird custom scripts a problem?
Yes, they definitely are.
But normal experiences without any special scripts or other nonsense are completely acceptable. Therefor change the xp from 10 to 50 (as a compromise) or reverd them.
We already got the problem that we cant host a portal server because of the limited hosting slots.. which negativ impact is already enough.
Players like me, also purchased your game (under your marketing premise) so dont threat us like customers of the titanic third class. Why you asking? Becaus we are going to spend money also on battle passes and co.. but some will not if you den reverd your xp nerf and if you dont come up with more portal slots.
If EA and DICE have a problem with bot farms and XP farms in the server browser they know what they **bleep**ed up.
They **bleep**ed up progression so badly that it necessitates people wanting to find/host/play with bots to more efficiently farm.
So while they can get rid of bots or the XP that they give it doesn't fix the underlying issue.
1. Challenges are too extravagant for things like unlocking new gadgets/weapons. Some maps don't even allow for these things to be unlocked, and certain modes as well shouldn't have to be played or bad gameplay should not be incentivized just to get some of these things done. They should be fun, interesting, or novel. (Camos/character/skin unlocks seem fine to be as challenging or whatever because they don't effect gameplay at all)
2. Weapon XP is functionally a bad system. The system of unlocking a attachment for the weapon every 10 kills with a weapon was balanced across all weapons to a certain extent and functionally made you feel like you were progressing and had new fun stuff to try out as you just played the game.
3. Solo/Coop modes that should have Bots and give full XP are now for some reason locked to official portal maps and/or can't be hosted locally therefore they take up slots on the server browser. You shouldn't tell your players how to play a game that they paid 70 dollars for. And people who want to take it easy and play with friends and unlock stuff together should have that chance, just as people who are focused on unlocking things in multiplayer should gain bonuses for doing it the hard way.
That pretty much covers everything that they could fix instantly to improve the game for the maximum amount of people. I'm sure from their point of view there would be some issues with fixing those things now, but this is what people have been saying and what I've seen, then they can focus on the things that make the game better from the other aspects like the network issues/latency with crossplay and server ping/PC framerate issues while ADSing etc.
