yep, and it's not only EA's rep...Steam's reputation is trashed by this as well since they are officially siding with EA on this one and NOT the consumer. Steam is very anti-consumer and could never be a public company, which btw makes them more dangerous than EA...who probably would have given me a refund by now, over this issue.
Steam is ironically the worst platform for digital game refund policy that I know of, and they used to be the best in that regard. I've gotten refunds from Xbox in the past for outstanding circumstances, and Amazon gave me one for this game. Not sure what Playstation's policy is, I haven't gamed on there since 2020.

FWIW I can tell you that Playstation's is far worse than Steam's. If you (for example) pre-order a game, but never even install it you can have trouble refunding at launch. Steam at least gives the timer no-questions asked.
I attempted to get a refund on God of War (2018 or whenever the nordic remake came out) and it crashed within the first 2 minutes of the game repeatedly. They wouldn't honor a refund request.
