Please read the Object, yes, we all have different Ideas about how or if Portal could be better, but in the end the Thread is the truth we are talking about !!!
I think in this Forum, no one of us wants Restricteted Servers in Portal like 8 Players to Start or 4 Players to Start a Game, we are talking about 1 Player to Start a Game, so we can have a Game against Bots or Friend, even if we only want to play alone and want to try a Tank or a Heli or whatever like Discovering a Map.
We used to have that kind of things in former BF Games.
I created a Portal Server named "Scotty´s New Testrange" at 21:35 on the 27-02-2027, and what do you think????
I am still waiting for Players to join.
Come on EA and everyone else, where is the problem, give us what you promised us or F...Y......!
You can still solo start a server against bots. These are all still solo start: Play PvE or PvP: Solo Start with Bots | EA Forums - 12909480
How? Make a new Portal Custom server using the Portal building website. You should edit the map by editing the json file in a text editor or using godot, because the default json file's default spawns are all in one area and there are no vehicles. This makes it easy to spawn trap or be spawn trapped. Additionally, you have to add a spawn point that is called an AI Spawner, and give it a unique ID. Then, on the Portal building website, load in your json file for that map, and create a block rule that spawns AI into each AI spawner periodically.
Or, just play one of the pre-made ones linked above.
Challenge and weapon unlocks is the thing that is missing. The ability to solo-start versus bots isn't missing. All they did is make it require block rules and an ai spawner so that it wasn't possible to cheese verified-mode servers any more.
Ty_Ger07 … I know you’re trying to help, but what is needed is a BF2042 type PvE against bots game mode. Not “custom” servers like you explained.
Unless you can use portal to join/pick BF6 Solo/Co-op games from the Main Menu that allows you can choose from the game types with up to 63 bots, all maps, and Bot skill levels with progression for unlocks… that’s what is wanted by the PvE players. BF2042 has this right now, but not for BF6.
If that could be done on a custom server, great … but it can’t be done now.
Agree. All I want is for the portal to function like BF2042. I can enjoy the smaller maps but really would like true BF maps. You know, large, many players/bots, many objectives, and room to run armor and aircraft in a functional way. Not all jammed in a small zone. Then I may reinstall and play. Until them, F them!

In my opinion, everything we want, is listed quite clearly up there in the opening post of retrib.
Everybody here wants what is listed in the title. But you said that you specifically want to be able to solo start against bots, as if it is no longer possible. I gave you a link. You can solo start against bots. Still. I am continuing to keep this thread filled with informed information, not fractured into disinformation.
