How? Make a new Portal Custom server using the Portal building website. You should edit the map by editing the json file in a text editor or using godot, because the default json file's default spawns are all in one area and there are no vehicles. This makes it easy to spawn trap or be spawn trapped. Additionally, you have to add a spawn point that is called an AI Spawner, and give it a unique ID. Then, on the Portal building website, load in your json file for that map, and create a block rule that spawns AI into each AI spawner periodically.
Or, just play one of the pre-made ones linked above.
Challenge and weapon unlocks is the thing that is missing. The ability to solo-start versus bots isn't missing. All they did is make it require block rules and an ai spawner so that it wasn't possible to cheese verified-mode servers any more.
Ty_Ger07 … I know you’re trying to help, but what is needed is a BF2042 type PvE against bots game mode. Not “custom” servers like you explained.
Unless you can use portal to join/pick BF6 Solo/Co-op games from the Main Menu that allows you can choose from the game types with up to 63 bots, all maps, and Bot skill levels with progression for unlocks… that’s what is wanted by the PvE players. BF2042 has this right now, but not for BF6.

Agree. All I want is for the portal to function like BF2042. I can enjoy the smaller maps but really would like true BF maps. You know, large, many players/bots, many objectives, and room to run armor and aircraft in a functional way. Not all jammed in a small zone. Then I may reinstall and play. Until them, F them!

Let's get over semantics and just be factual. It can be done, but people don't like it for various reasons. List the things you don't like in a factual way, if you want any chance of change. Strawmanning the debate causes a lack of credibility, makes the goals not apparent, and reduces the chance for change.
This person said that they wanted a specific thing. I am not wrong for providing a link to the thing they say they want. If they want something different, they should say so.
It's like all the people who strawmanned not having a server browser or not having persistent servers, in all the various social media outlets, have got nothing accomplished because there was already a server browser and there was already persistent servers. It just makes them look dumb because they didn't define what they want changed in what is already available and instead pretended like the entire concept doesn't already exist.
It is great from you trying to help poeple with your build experiences, but they lack full progression. Which was prommised at launch and afther 2 weeks EA/Dice backed down from that.
What poeple want here is loud and clear. Like the initial Thread Titel states.
Poeple want Full progression back on Portal like it was when the game launched. Afther launch you could easy make a Portal experience using the 'Verified Mode'. Not everyone has the time and the nerves to build an experience with all the building blocks, plus some updates can ruin it and you need to build it again. (Heared that from various Youtubers already). Again it is great that you made those experiences, but it should not be our job to find "work arounds" it is EA/Dice there job to revert the unnecessary changes they made
Like me and my husband. We both work all week and just want to play together a few rounds on the weekend, just the 2 of us and get full progression. Your experiences will not give us any exp except for match completion and the Verified Mode we also can not play because it needs 4 poeple to start and we are just 2.

YOU must get the BF2042 game. It’s all but free now. You can pick up at Game Stop for a couple bucks… or on EA Play for $6 and play Solo against bots In BF2042 and do not use portal. Solo is from the main menu. Play it. Only then will you understand what the PvE people are wanting when they reference BF2042 like I did.
And re-read my reply, I listed exactly “the things” that need to be changed or added.

Item 1. The only item. We want what was promised! Period. No workarounds, no list of "your" thoughts on what we want. We have been very clear. Your list of lacking is laughable, Ty. you can speak for yourself and maybe a few others but this thread is for those of us that want what we paid for.
