Thermal Sights (Costs and Visuals)

I think that 35 points for the 1x and 25 points for the 1.5x and 3x thermal sights are WAY TOO HIGH to be used for any gun. They really need to be reduced to 10-20 points, preferably 15 for a good balance. Also, they need their reticles and thermal effects redone as well, for they both look really ugly. Basically, just copy what you did in Bf2042 and then boom problem solved. Thank you!

There shouldn't be a point system on attachments in the first place. Go back and look at BF4; you unlock it, you can use it. Instead of points, the attachment you selected had PROS and CONS. I know... such a novel idea.

If put a 4x on an AR, that thing added sway since now you were using it for medium to long range engagements and was a **bleep** to control recoil. Suppressors reduced signature and spread but decreased velocity and increased bullet drop (not something I really agreed with but it's still an example). Bipods only worked if deployed, otherwise it was as if you didn't even have a bottom attachment. All lasers were visible to enemies. Under-barrel launchers reduced ADS accuracy but lowered vertical recoil (because of weight, duh) but you had a GL! 3x scope on a marksman rifle, no more scope glint and reduced sway. Heavy barrel only reduced first-shot recoil so it was more manageable when starting gun fights.

Now all attachments either have no CONS or very negligible.

  • The points system wouldn't be horrible if the weapons weren't so insanely imbalanced and "standard" attachments only ever cost 5 points.

The USG90 is a great example.  For pretty much any other SMG, getting CLOSE to the 50 rounds of the USG costs 30-40 points.  On the USG, 5 points because it's "Stock".  So you can rock whatever other great attachments you want AND get 50 rounds in a mag.

Then you have how some guns have impossible recoil, made even worse in S3, requiring you to build them with recoil control attachments, and then you have same damage weapons with no recoil stock, and you get way more freedom to chose.

ALSO doesn't help they weren't smart enough to set up attachments in increments of 5 points.  Not everything needs to be in the 5 points, but the grips and ammo attachments are horrible for this.  You either get to use the great or the terrible attachment, and rarely do you get an in between choice.

Also the thermal costs are stupid.  35p for a optic that has limited use cases is moronic.
