WHEELED ARMORED VEHICLE REQUIRED!
In the Battlefield series, vehicles have always played a significant role, and their diversity allows players to enjoy a more varied experience in vehicle warfare. In the current Battlefield 6 vehicle system, ground vehicles are limited to relatively cumbersome tracked heavy-duty vehicles and unarmored light vehicles (excluding the upcoming light armored MRAP vehicles), while lacking highly mobile, well-armed, and moderately armored vehicles—specifically, wheeled armored vehicles. These wheeled armored vehicles can be rapidly deployed to the battlefield with their impressive mobility and engage enemies with powerful firepower. In reality, wheeled armored forces have become a key component of the rapid reaction forces in many countries and have proven capable of defeating heavy armored units.
Wheeled armored vehicles can be designed as highly mobile assets with strong acceleration and high top speed, enabling rapid deployment. They should feature armor weaker than that of tracked IFVs but significantly superior to MRAPs, while maintaining comparable firepower to their tracked counterparts. The diverse and distinctive wheeled IFVs developed by various nations could greatly enrich the vehicle system in Battlefield 6.
The NATO faction could utilize the M1304, one of the latest variants in the Stryker vehicle family. This armored vehicle officially entered service with the U.S. Army earlier this year, becoming the new direct-fire cornerstone for SBCT. The M1304 is equipped with a 30mm autocannon and a 7.62mm machine gun, features third-generation thermal imaging technology for high-definition night vision capabilities, and can be outfitted with two Javelin anti-tank missiles on either side of the turret. An active protection system can be installed on the turret, and the vehicle also offers a degree of mine-resistant protection, designed to provide mine resistance comparable to that of tracked IFV.
Thanks to the participation of many nations, the PAX-ARMATA faction has a significantly wider selection of wheeled armored vehicles compared to the NATO faction. Among European nations, the most renowned wheeled IFV is likely the Boxer series. This excellent armored vehicle has entered service in numerous countries worldwide, even including the British Army—which in the game belongs to the NATO faction. The Boxer also offers protection against nearly all small arms and even light autocannon fire, with an optional active protection system available. The most notable feature of the Boxer is its modular design. These vehicles can be equipped with various 30mm autocannon modules, or even 105mm/120mm tank gun modules. A similar approach could be implemented in the game—allowing players to choose between troop-transporting wheeled IFVs and non-transport wheeled tanks.Similarly, the Italian Centauro wheeled tank destroyer is also armed with a 105mm or 120mm tank gun. These vehicles could fulfill the role of wheeled tanks—offering greater mobility than tracked tanks but weaker protection—enabling more possibilities for rapid assaults.
As one of the most notable enthusiasts of wheeled combat vehicles, the French military also operates a diverse range of wheeled armored vehicles. The VBCI, one of the French Army's primary combat vehicles, is equipped with the same 25mm autocannon and 7.62mm machine gun as the M2 Bradley, and offers considerable ballistic and mine-resistant protection. It could appear as a signature French vehicle in European and African theaters.
The rapid mobility of wheeled IFVs, combined with firepower comparable to that of tracked IFVs, would provide players with more tactical options. I strongly recommend incorporating renowned global wheeled IFVs into Battlefield 6.
