Why do I even bother?

Like the title states, why do I bother playing this bs broken noob protecting game?

Fact, prior to the launch of BF3, Dice intentionally created the suppression and cover system to protect noobs and bad players alike, they knew loyal customers were getting shafted, not only did they not care, they hid the lube and went in dry anyway.

They took our money and watched the veterans who were actually good at the game drop the game one by one, still they didn't care.

The tip of the iceberg, as I'm quite sure they're tight lipped about several other mechanisms that have plagued the series, with addition to more mechanisms added throughout the years.

Hit reg, doesn't work for a reason, it's not broken it's designed that way.

Input delay or having to spam buttons to perform actions and you might get it eventually, again there's no reason a AAA title in 2026 can't cope with simple tasks as to your controls, the most fundamental part of any video game.

Gun stutters or just doesn't fire, again a fundamental part of a shooting game.

Mouse sensitivity randomly going into extremes either way too strong or not strong enough.

Enemy players not dying when shot enough to kill them twice, (Netcode) yeah it's a function and it's by design.

Shooting enemies not even hitting the cover, or the enemy is on my side of the cover and still hitting nothing but the armoured cover.

Desync, another issue that should take absolute precedence like the Netcode, yeah judging the past several games they will never fix it, they might say they have, but it's a placebo fix at best.

If you love Battlefield as I do, you should be as angry as I am, unless of course you're one of the chosen players who likes to camp, you don't see the problems because you're the type of player dice isn't actively nerfing into oblivion.

There's a problem with Dices unscrupulous tactics, the game is dying faster and faster each title that comes out, and these brain dead criminal scumbags don't care, they've turned Battlefield into a cash cow.

They might sell more copies than ever before but there's a trend of the concurrent players dropping off, and BF6 in my eyes has potential to be one of the greatest in the series, and there's barely anybody playing anymore, they left for Arc raiders, Wardogs, Delta force, anything but a game that punishes them for being good, and rewards the players who struggle to think and breathe at the same time.

I care, I've loved the game ever since I started playing it, in 2005.

We're talking about a company who have ruthlessly taken the fruits of other peoples talent and then pushed them out of the door, the OG creator Johan Persson, rumoured to have lost his spark and walked out, I'm not so sure when you look at the rest of Dices habitual antics, The Trauma studios, a group of Modders who basically made BF2 the absolute master piece it was, sacked before the launch of bf2, this trend didn't stop, right up to BF6, after the most successful launch in the franchise history, Dice started sending people packing from all of the studios involved, also they refuse to disclose the exact amount of Devs who were sacked.

If you think it's a skill issue, I've said this a few times and I'll say it again, it is, you're exactly right, albeit it's an issue because I'm not allowed to use my skills, and Dice are quite literally protecting you from me.

I don't think this franchise is longed for this world, when all the players with half a brain and an imagination have had enough, the game will die, it will be left with nothing but campers, and when Dice take aim at vehicles to protect their miserable band of happy campers, even they will leave, then every game will be a stagnant waste, or the player numbers will eventually get so consistently low Dice will just pull the plug, bye bye Battlefield.

So again if you actually love Battlefield like I do, stop trolling when people say the game is broken, if you enjoy camping in a bush, or running and gunning there won't be a Battlefield to do anything.

The only people who do consistently well playing like me, are hacking, I know, because the few moments the game actually works for me, I can literally slaughter everybody, but 90% of the time I'm plagued by all of the above mentioned issues, everyday every game I'm surrounded by noobs who don't die, kill me instantly, massively disproportionately suppress me, seemingly posses homing grenades, they're never suppressed, they never flinch, and honestly they're some of the dumbest most poor quality players I've ever seen, and they're unkillable.

It will be a sad day when this great steaming shower of bovine excrement dies, but it will be deserved.

I completely understand the sentiment about being punished for being good. That's probably the most frustrating part of modern Battlefield for me. It's not simply about losing a gunfight — it's when you know you have the experience, mechanics and game sense to take control of an engagement, but the game doesn't consistently allow you to express any of it.

For me, that's where the frustration goes beyond just "the game feels bad." A big part of why I've played BF6 for so long is the ability to develop a my style and identity.  Learn the maps, understand positioning, movement, weapon behaviour, timing, angles and momentum, and eventually you reach a point where you can genuinely in conrol and dominating the scoreboards.

There is something incredibly satisfying about knowing you're the player who can break through a defensive line, wipe a squad, turn a losing objective into a winning one, or simply make the other team change how they're playing because you've become a problem they have to deal with. That's not just about chasing a K/D — it's about expressing who I am through the game.

When hit registration, desync, input delay, inconsistent gun behaviour or questionable server interactions get between you and the outcome, that connection disappears. You can make the right decision, execute the right movement and put the shots where they need to go, yet the game can still produce an outcome that doesn't reflect what actually happened.

And that's where it starts to affect your identity as a player. You know what you're capable of, and you've experienced it when the game actually behaves properly. Those occasional games where everything clicks are almost worse because they prove the underlying ability is still there. You can suddenly dominate the battlefield and think, "Yep, that's what I'm supposed to be doing." Then the next several matches feel like you're fighting the engine, the netcode and the server rather than the opposing team.

I don't expect the game to hand me kills, and I'm perfectly happy to lose to someone who outplays me, that's Battlefield. What I don't want is for the game itself to be the deciding factor in whether I'm allowed to express the skills I've spent years developing.

At some point, though, you have to wonder whether the modern formula is ever going to accommodate that particular style of play. Maybe the uncomfortable conclusion is that I may never find an online Battlefield that truly suits my very particular set of skills again.

And that's probably what disappoints me most. It's not that I expect to dominate every match. It's that I know what Battlefield can feel like when the game gets out of the way and lets the player actually play, that's the Battlefield I keep coming back for.
