I'm not upset by any means. I CANT wait to try out Golmud. I hope this is their cue to look into bringing back other maps from the series. i mean Outbreak was a CTE map.
Altai Range, Hammerhead, Silk road were all vehicle maps. Then you got Bf3's armored kill and endgame with the dirt bikes and CTF.
Assuming bringing in Golmud is due to Popularity?

Edit: I assume it's because it's popular. There are a fair few rented servers in BF4 that seem to run it 24/7 or it's part of a small rotation. I think that's why I'm not too excited about it and I'm more looking forward to the new map. I still hope the Golmud remake it good, though, so I can expand the number of maps I'll play (I've taken some of the BF6 maps out. Looking at you, Liberation Peak, especially).
Thats a good question i can only think because it was the biggest map so if they leave it as is, will resolve the small maps issue we have at the present.
Obviously it wont be everyone's cup of tea because it is a vehicle friendly map, but tweaking it and giving more cover for infantry i think everyone will enjoy it.
Some of the BF4 maps were very well-designed. And the BF3 ones too.
I am so bored to death with the pathetic map count we have in BF6.
I assume they hate us and instead of choosing a good map, they chose this :D
Oh no Golmud for real? It's such a lazy map, everything will be destroyed after just 10 minutes and then there is no cover anymore. I never liked that map.
They should have brought back Wake Island and not this crap map. I am so unbelievable dissapointed, so many ppl ask for Wake Island and other actual good maps with some water around it, but what we get is a total boring desert crap map again. I don't want to play on these super ugly desert maps anymore, I am so sick of all the desert maps.
It's the most played large scale map from BF4. The community asked for larg maps and Dice answered. I am guessing it's easier to rmaster than creating maps from scratch.
It's a bummer because I was hoping for Locker.
Don't hold your breath. It's not likely to come out this coming season. "Can't wait"? Start waiting. They are just starting some preliminary testing and refining. At earliest, it is expected very late in the coming 'season'.
Locker was 'good' because is was totally different from the other maps in the game and a change of pace. Locker in BF6 would just be another meh infantry map to go with the others.
I'm guessing it's because it's a wide open map and they can remake it in the mold of the current maps. If they remade any other map it would show up just how poor the current map design philosophy on BF6 is.
