Battlefield 6 – Persistent Asset Streaming / Invisible Geometry Issue

Battlefield 6 - invisible players/weapons and delayed world streaming at start of every match (PC)

Summary:

At the start of every match (approx 2-5 minutes), players/weapons and world objects (e.g. bushes/vegetation) appear late or pop in as I move. It looks like assets/LOD are streaming in around me rather than being present. This happens in both Casual Breakthrough and normal multiplayer. After a few minutes it improves.

System:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT

RAM: 64 GB

Storage: NVMe SSD (Crucial P5 Plus, CT1000P5PSSD8)

OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Build 26200)

DirectX: DX12 Ultimate

Driver: AMD Adrenalin 26.2.2 (clean install)

Monitor: 1920x1080 240Hz (DisplayPort)

What I see:

- First 2-5 minutes of each match: missing/invisible player models and sometimes weapon/ADS issues

- Vegetation/objects appear as I run past (streaming/LOD delay)

- Not a one-time event: repeats every match

- No major stutter observed

Diagnostics/metrics:

- AMD overlay shows CPU utilization at 100% during match start, GPU utilization ~70-94%

- No thermal throttling

- Disk and network do not spike during the issue

Troubleshooting already done:

1) Clean GPU driver install (Adrenalin 26.2.2) and reset settings to default (no Anti-Lag/RSR/Boost/AFMF/Enhanced Sync etc)

2) Cleared caches:

- C:\Users\Steven\AppData\Local\Battlefield 6\cache

- C:\Users\Steven\AppData\Local\D3DSCache

- C:\Users\Steven\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache

Battlefield cache file PcDx12 remains very small (~5KB) and the issue persists.

3) Reinstalled Battlefield 6 (fresh install)

4) Tried exclusive fullscreen and refresh rate set to 240Hz in Windows

5) In-game settings:

- Frame Rate Limiter ON, set to 180 FPS (CPU still hits 100% and issue persists)

- Dynamic resolution OFF, upscaling OFF

6) Windows settings tested:

- Disabled "Optimisations for windowed games"

- Disabled Windows Variable Refresh Rate

- Drive indexing disabled (where permitted)

- Defender exclusions added for the game and BF6 AppData folders

Request:

Please advise if this is a known DX12/Frostbite asset streaming or LOD issue on PC, and what additional logs you need.

I can provide DxDiag and crash dumps if required.
