Re: PC freezing after 10 minutes of playing since 4/16
Hi,
I’m having a serious issue with Battlefield 6 on PC Steam.
After launching the game, everything runs fine initially, but after 15 minutes from start up, my entire PC freezes completely. This is not just a game crash — the whole system locks up. I lose all input (keyboard, mouse, controller), and I have to force a shutdown using the power button.
I think this might be because of my virtual secure memory failing even though it says I have memory core isolation memory integrity on and had no conflicting drivers, according to windows. Anyone else have this come up that is suffereing from this, I wonder how many people quit this game it took me a month how to fix it but the fix no9 longer lasts like it did.
BF6 uses memory integrity VSM
Check your boot metrics,
C:/Windows/Logs/MeasureBoot and open the last json file. Search for the text "false" mine has true for everything until VSM and the last option.
Removing my CPU used to fix it for over a month, then I needed to remove my CPU and RAM. Since season 2 the issue has been very frequent lie every 2 weeks till now it only last one session. If I try and play it will get up to the start button after the splash screen and then freeze the PC. I removed my CPU, RAM and GPU the other day and I was able to play a couple rounds till the issue came back, again won't go past the start button. Flashing BIOS does nothing, removing the hard ware nothing else use to fix it for a while.
This time I removed my CPU, RAM, GPU, NVME drive and my CMOS battery for 10 minutes and I am about to test it again.
It still says my virtual secure memory was false....
I wanted to provide an update because I’ve now spent the last several days trying pretty much every troubleshooting step I can find across the forums, Reddit, YouTube, EA Answers HQ, and through suggestions from other players — and unfortunately the issue is still happening.
At this point, I genuinely don’t believe this is a hardware failure on my PC. Other games run perfectly fine, temperatures are normal, stress tests pass, and this issue only happens with Battlefield 6.
Over the last few days I’ve tried:
Reinstalling the game
Verifying files
Clean reinstalling NVIDIA drivers using DDU
Updating BIOS and chipset drivers
Updating Windows
Disabling overlays
Testing different graphics settings
Changing refresh rates/resolutions
Monitoring temps and usage
Testing stability in other games
The issue remains exactly the same: After around 10–15 minutes, the entire PC hard freezes and I have to force shutdown the system.
What’s especially frustrating is that I genuinely love this game. I wouldn’t still be spending hours troubleshooting this if I didn’t care about it. I really enjoy the gameplay, the community, and I’m genuinely excited for the upcoming season.
But right now I’m honestly worried I won’t even be able to play it.
The new season is only a few days away, and I still haven’t been able to finish the current battle pass because of these freezes. I just want to be able to play the game properly again.
So I’m asking if there’s any additional help, acknowledgement, or possible fixes coming for this issue — especially since I’m clearly not the only person experiencing it. If any community manager, developer, or support staff sees this, I’d genuinely appreciate any guidance at all.
I really want to continue playing Battlefield 6 on PC, but at this point I’m honestly starting to question whether I’ll need to refund the game if applicable because not being able to even finish a round on a game I payed for is insane and move back to PS5 just to be able to play consistently, which I really do not want to do.
I’m not trying to be aggressive or hostile here — just honest and frustrated because this is one of the main games I spend my free time playing, and right now I simply can’t access it properly.
