Re: Can’t Host Anything in Portal - 'Global Game Quota Exceeded’ Error

Critical Issue: Persistent "Global game quota Exceeded" Error on High-XP Portal Servers - A plea for increased capacity and a fair grind

Error Message: Error = Global game quota Excceded our game servers at capacity. Were working to get you back in the game. [9:1470002S:- 1741111940]`

Body:

Dear EA/DICE Team and Community,

First off, I want to say that Battlefield 6, both visually and in terms of gameplay experience, is the best FPS game currently available, and hopefully, it will be the greatest once these initial issues are fixed.

With that said, we are facing a persistent and now near-constant error message ("Global game quota Exceeded") when trying to host or join high XP-boost servers in Battlefield Portal, regardless of the time of day.

This server capacity issue is severely impacting the community, particularly new, casual, or less-skilled players who rely on these hosted experiences (often password-protected bot lobbies) to make meaningful progress.

The Root of the Problem & Player Behavior:

  1. The Grind is Brutal: The XP requirements for unlocking and leveling up weapons, vehicles, and attachments are extremely high.
  2. The Online Landscape: Playing in the regular online environment is incredibly difficult and frustrating for non-expert players due to a high volume of skilled players and, frankly, cheaters. Speaking of the "wonderful" experience: A big shoutout to all my fellow players using the Chorus Zen hardware accessories, and the snipers shooting through walls! Thank you for the "amazing" gameplay! This chaos leads to a low sense of achievement and a very slow grind.
  3. The Alternative (and current issue): Players are forced to turn to high XP-boost, bot-only, password-protected Portal servers to have a fair chance at leveling their gear. This method is the only way many players can make any consistent progress and maintain a basic level of enjoyment.
  4. Capacity Crunch: It appears the server capacity allocated for these high XP-boost Portal instances is insufficient. In contrast, low XP-boost servers have plenty of space, but no one uses them because the grind remains too slow.
  5. Perpetual Occupation: The servers that do exist are constantly being blocked, either because they are persistently occupied or because the time it takes for a server to reset and free up capacity after a host leaves is simply too long.

Impact on the Player Experience:

  • No Progress: The inability to access these servers means countless players are completely stalled in their progression, unable to level up the gear they need.
  • Zero Success: For those already struggling in regular multiplayer, this removes the only viable alternative for a positive, rewarding gameplay experience. The feeling of success and satisfaction has hit rock bottom.
  • Portal's Value: The very feature that allows custom progression for those who need it—Portal—is now fundamentally broken due to capacity issues tied to its most-used configuration.

A Request for Action:

We urge EA/DICE to significantly increase the server capacity dedicated to high XP-boost Portal experiences. The current limits are pushing dedicated players away from the game. Please address this urgent server-side capacity limit to allow all players a path to fair and reasonable progression.

Thank you for your time and attention to this critical issue.

I haven't played since I sat at my computer for 20 minutes spamming host game. Honestly makes me sick cause i love the game but I don't want to play in constant sweaty lobbies. I'm just trying to grind and have fun while doing it. Please EA. Please.
