EA linked my PSN to a random account

Hey everyone,

I just decided to finally buy Battlefield (yesterday). When I launched the game, I immediately got a message saying my EA account needed to be recovered — and on the screen was an email address I’ve never seen before, definitely not mine

A few key points:

  • I’ve never played EA games before (besides a few included in PSN Premium).
  • The email shown on the recovery screen isn’t connected to me in any way.
  • I think my PlayStation account somehow got linked to a random or fraudulent EA account.
  • I contacted EA Support, but they don’t seem to understand the issue. They keep trying to recover the other account, which obviously fails because it’s not mine — I’ve failed verification five times now.
  • My own EA account (the one tied to my real email) is perfectly fine — it was never linked to my PSN account.

So right now, I basically can’t play the game I just paid for because my PSN ID is linked to someone else’s EA account.

I’ve tried to explain to support that I’m the owner of the PlayStation account and that I want my PSN unlinked from this fraudulent EA account, but they keep going in circles

Has anyone been through this before?

How can I escalate this issue to actually get my PSN unlinked? Any direct EA contact that isn’t the usual frontline support chat
