jonbailey396 Hey, there
This has been brought up a few times in the past, but it isn't much of an issue now.
The best way I have seen from the community to complete it in standard multiplayer matches is to try these methods:
- The "Wait-to-Lock" Technique: Do not fire immediately to scare pilots into flaring. Wait until the pilot pops countermeasures, then lock on and fire immediately before the flares recharge.
- Play in Conquest on Open Maps: Larger, wide-open maps like Golmud, Firestorm, or Blackwell give aircraft less opportunity to hide behind terrain.
- Target Transport Helicopters: Because they are slower and larger, transport helicopters are easier targets than nimble attack choppers or jets.
Best Maps & Strategy
- Golmud Railway & Firestorm: These are the top recommended maps due to their wide-open spaces and lack of tall structures for pilots to use as cover (terrain masking).
- Bait the Flares: Do not shoot immediately upon locking on. Wait for an ally to fire, or hold your lock until the nervous pilot panics and drops their flares. Lock on immediately after the flares clear and fire.
- Camp the Anti-Aircraft (AA) Vehicles: Hang out around your team's stationary or mobile AA vehicles. Let the AA vehicle shred the helicopter's health and force them to flare, then fire your IGLA to steal/poach the final blow.
- Target Transport Helicopters: Target transport choppers over attack choppers or jets. They move more slowly, have larger hitboxes, and pilots stay in them longer to drop off teammates.
