Lags even on 400+ fps

Okay so, within a time i noticed odd lagging even tho my game is running on 400+ fps in fight areas which is really strange because a "beast" pc shouldnt be doing that at all. Ive came across multiple solutions yet i didnt found any working.

I tested in-game fps limiter, set it to about 30 AND results were actually weird because it limited my cpu (fps) to 30 but the gpu was still running on about 230-300fps.

If it doesnt make any sense to you, ill drop videos. Please someone tell me what to do at this point.

both videos edited in capcut and set to 120 fps.

  • Well firstly the fps limiter only limits your CPU fps because it doesn't tell the GPU to only make the frame 30 times a second it just tells the cpu to calculate 30 of those frames per second which is why it's at 30 on the CPU only then to the original question getting 400 fps in a AAA game means you are playing in 1080 p probably considering you said you have a beast of a computer so I'm guessing what a 5080 5090 as those are the only gpus that should be classified as beasts 5070 ti and 9070 xt and 7900 xtx could be classified somewhat too but they will be dieing making 400 fps in 1080p unless you have ai frame gen which explains your issues but for the lag I couldn't notice any in the videos so if you could explain a bit more I might be able to help you

What im trying to explain is why is battlefield makes cpu and gpu dont work in pair at all. I feel like the game's smoothness is mostly dependent on CPU and a bit of GPU. I remember playing in first season of battlefield 6 and it FELT amazing when it comes to smoothness. I was running medium-high settings, literally the same as i do now. NOW it quite feels awkward because such a PC shouldnt lag at all in such a game. Might be wrong tho, please help. Its not lagging constantly just to be clear, mostly in fight areas but even in season 1 fight areas wasnt a problem for my specs

    im on ryzen 7 9700x + rx9070xt

How a game renders is the GPU renders the frames then the CPU processes the frames then the ram stores the render as a high speed storage you have very similar specs to my PC I have a 7900 xtx and a 245kf so my GPU is a bit better but my CPU isn't as good currently I'm playing 1440p at about 140 fps on overkill settings and my CPU is making a bottleneck in which my CPU cant process all the frames my GPU is making which is a similar thing for you because your playing in 1080 p and medium to high settings which puts more strain on the CPU because their are more frames to process and what you have been noticing more recently is probably a case of tn which makes a bit of lag and as the maps get bigger it gets more strain on the CPU and GPU and ram and the difference between now and when the game came out is we got bigger maps which is more to render which is more to process and more to store if you want to make it better put your settings up to overkill you can see the affect on the components under the description so just change it accordingly and it should run better

Okay so, ive tried running overkill settings, tried to scale resolution up to 200% and went from 400-500 fps to around 1000, however tho game was still lagging, im totally clueless

Like I said the fps isn't the problem 200 fps is above what any normal player really needs about 120 is all you really need unless you really want to get a competitive advantage which you have to be good at the game to do the lag isn't the fps it's other things it can be many things aka actual lag, tn, CPU not keeping up, framegen making input delay, mouse and keyboard generating input delay and many others putting it to overkill settings is what I said don't put the resolution up to 200% that is a form of upscaling which can make the game have delay and show different things if makes your computer render say 480p then upscales it 200% to get 1080p or whatever that actual numbers are another issue could just be your monitor isn't keeping up if you want me to help you then I can here are some stuff that could be the problem

    1. Go into the windows settings go to displays click on your main display make sure your playing at the recommend resolution and the highest hertz you can
    2. Go into battlefield 6 settings go into graphics I think it's just at the top and make sure your game has the monitor set to the right resolution and the right hertz (if you can't change the hertz change it from windowed boarder less)
    3. Make sure you have the latest stable drivers for your GPU more times then not this is the issue but make sure to get the stable drivers as drivers lately have been quite glitchy on AMD and Nvidia cards
    4. Go into your and app and while battlefield 6 is running you will be able to change a few settings make sure frame gen is off I think they call it like smooth gen or something like that
    5. Play the game with no upscaling FSR is fine and the reduced input delay setting but make sure to play and your monitor resolution

There is many things that can be the issue this is just a few

I also have the same issue because I have seen situations where a game can show extremely high FPS but still feel noticeably laggy or uneven during actual gameplay. The FPS counter alone does not always explain what is happening, especially if the problem is related to frame pacing, sudden frame-time spikes, CPU scheduling, or something happening in the background. The fact that lowering the in-game limiter to around 30 FPS produced such an unusual result, with the CPU side apparently limited while the GPU was still reporting 230–300 FPS, makes me wonder whether the displayed FPS and the frames actually being presented to the screen are behaving differently. It would be interesting to see whether the lag is more noticeable during specific effects, fights, or camera movement rather than simply occurring whenever the FPS drops.
