Multiple issues with GUI and gameplay
I want to start by saying that when I’m in a match and the game is working properly, it is awesome and a lot of fun. The problem is the technical issues that I encounter daily.
There are multiple issues I encounter when playing BF6 that make it cumbersome and less entertaining than it should be. One example is that when loading into a match, the class and load out GUI seems to point to the opposite team I am actually on. So I am unable to effectively select my characters camo for that match. More often I just exit out and try again, but that’s a pain in the **bleep** to keep doing constantly. I would say this occurs more than half of the time I play.
I saw it mentioned already but your orange dot indicators for new equipment often don’t clear even with the clear all option that was added recently because you guys couldn’t figure out how to make a simple dot indicator clear when the new item had been viewed.
If I exit to the main menu after a match and then try to play again using the quick play menu, I find that the GUI will often not load at all so I can’t begin a new match. Another situation requiring me to log out and back in.
You really need to change the assigned key binding for picking up a kit off the ground; it constantly causes a weapon kit switch when trying to revive someone because the hot key is the same one for reviving a downed teammate.
All of these things I mentioned above have been issues for a significant period of time, though perhaps not exactly from launch.
Now just recently I have found that when playing as recon, the indicator for how my scope is zeroed is missing. The zeroing function still seems to work, but the visual indicator showing the zero distance is missing. This is incredibly frustrating when trying to play. Patches and updates should improve gameplay and I’ve found that I dread any bf6 updates because I wonder to myself “what won’t work now?” I completely understand that technical issues can happen, but the frequency, persistence, and what feels like a lack of action on your part really cause me to question not only the bf6 teams competence, but whether or not I’ll continue to invest time and money into games your studio produces.
I’ve tolerated many of these issues and not said anything, but the sniper zeroing distance thing was the issue that was irritating enough to cause me to speak up. I am a licensed healthcare provider, and if I half assed my job the way so many aspects of this game have been half assed, I would be behind bars. I know it’s really not the most pressing of the issues I mentioned, but I keep coming back to the dot indicator problem. That has been an issue from day one, and it became almost comical how it would seem to resolve, then a patch would come out, and all of a sudden the dots are running amok again and not disappearing. This seems to have happened at least a few times. Adding the clear all function felt like you simply conceded that you couldn’t figure it out and added what is supposed to be a master switch to clear them, but even that doesn’t work sometimes.
Does your team take pride in its work? If so, can they honestly say they are proud of this product? The game is awesome when it doesn’t succumb to these myriad technical issues…it’s time to assume some responsibility, stop being lackadaisical, and fix your product.
In closing, having a 3 second timer on the event tab in the main menu is terrible idea…perhaps one of your teams worst. Please make it go away.
