On Steam, native Dualsense stick movement problem
Hello everyone,
I am a controller player on PC who enjoys playing games with a controller rather than mouse and keyboard, and I was very excited to play Battlefield 6 on my PC with a Dualsense(TMR stick modified). During beta, I felt my aim is a bit off, and I thought it was just me being rusty since I didn't play much of FPS games on PC with a controller. After BF6 is launched, I started to play more and more, and realized it wasn't just my thumbs, but rather it was a controller issue.
When I use native Dualsense(no steam input) for haptic feedback and all, my right thumb stick movement acts like 8-directional d-pad. No true circular movement can be achieved. I set deadzone for both Steam and in-game setting to 0, yet joysticks behave like 8-directional d-pad. This limits micro adjustments when I use a sniper rifle, and overall aiming feels really off. Only solution I found is to use steam input. This do limits Dualsense adaptive trigger feature but I would rather aim more precisely than use adaptive trigger feature.
I did use hidusbf, aka 'LordofMice' to overclock the usb port I use for connecting my Dualsense, and my Dualsense is modified with a set of TMR sticks(it's from Gulikit, I believe). I don't think these would cause this problem I am having, but who know. My center deadzone is set to 0 and axial deadzone is set to 3.3 for both joysticks.
I haven't tried using a different usb port nor usb cable yet, but I am going to keep troubleshooting till I find an answer.
Does anyone have similar experiences? I can't seem to find any similar posts on here nor reddit. If you do please share it on comment section. Thank you!
P.S. I found there is a reddit post related to this, so I guess I am not alone lol. It was about axial deadzone. Still, please share if you have similar experiences. :)
