Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED or DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

I've been experiencing this issue since install; intermittently, (sometimes hours between) the game will freeze, black screen, audio will cut out then the system delivers a DirectX Error. The crashes occur in multiplayer no apparent pattern.

DirectX function "m_submitFencePlat->GetCompletedValue()" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. "). GPU: "AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, Driver: 25.10.30 (25.10.30-250902a-419752C-AIB). D:\dev\TnT\Code\Packages\RenderCore2\RenderCore2\dev\so urce\platform\Dx12\SubmissionManagerDx12.cpp. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. DeviceRemoved Reason: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands").

There have been multiple suggestions made online, undervolting the GPU, enabling 4G decoding and rebar in BIOS, lowering MESH quality and graphics settings overall, ensuring FSR is turned off, drivers up-to-date, high-performance mode, verifying the game files, clean installing etc. etc. None of these seem to have resolved the problem. Event viewer displays no apparent associated error.

Specs and DxDiag are attached.

Your not the only one plagued by it. Can't even go through a single game without it dying. Tried every fix I can find. Undervolt, Anti lag off, FSR off, fluid motion frames off.  Even remove XMP and PBOD from my CPU and still crashes. Even running everything on LOW still crashes.

All on the Latest driver 25.11.1 windows fully up to date.

Had absolutely no problems with the beta. But since the last couple updates can't complete a single game.

Added my DxDiag to the thread.

I just bought the RX 9060 XT and I'm encountering the same crashing problem. The interesting thing is that this only happens with EA games; I've had crashes since Battlefield 5 and NFS Unbound.

    My specs: Ryzen 5 5600, RX 9060 XT 16GB and 32GB DDR4 RAM

It is not hardware problem. EA cannot fix this stuff even after few updates. I'm experiencing this problem also and it is annoying, when EA does not pay attention to this problem. Behaving like nothing is happening.

This isn't just me then? Very frustrating. I've just upgraded my graphics card also,

Went through the motions of under clocking it, dropping graphics quality and everything,

Turns out though system event logs are pointing to something on the EA anti cheat software closing the minute the game crashes fully uninstalled and reinstalled but still getting the same problem. I think anti cheat is bugged and causing the disconnect. ??

    It's virtually unplayable ATM

9700XT. Audio stutters then freezes to a black screen and have to reset the computer to fix. This is annoying and makes me not want to play BF6. I keep losing my progressions mid match.

While playing I noticed micro stutters. When it starts to happen, you can be sure, that you will get an error. Looks like game is "overusing" GPU and finally you are getting "HUNG" error message.

Also experiencing this exact same issue intermittently. My build is brand new so I assumed it had something to do with BIOS/drivers/voltage but this thread is suggesting it may be a client issue. Was anyone able to find a permanent solution?

    Ryzen 5 7600X

    RX 9060XT 16GB

    What is your motherboard chipset?

Are you overclocking ? (Ram or/and gpu)?

I’ve resorted to resetting the cache in the adrenaline software before playing which usually gives me 2-3 hours gameplay before any direct x crashes but it’s all a bit of guesswork as everyone’s rig is different

Recent updates fixed my problem after 3 days and still no crashes!

    What did I do?

    Updated AMD 5900X chipset driver

    Updated Win11 OS

    Updated 9060XT 16Gb drivers

Updated BF6 to the new map and fixes.

From the above I ignore what did the trick or if it was a combo of things.

I had stopped played BF6 altogether on my AMD (no issues with NVidia) since my last message (month or more ago)

Hopefully you guys get lucky, and please report your successes, people tend to report the negatives and never mention positives.

Do you have any idea what it is about the newer versions that causes it to act up? Or what upscaling have to do with it? Just curious
