Severe lag/stutter when clicking rapidly

Hi everyone,
I’m having a very strange and frustrating issue and I’d like to know if anyone else experienced this.

While playing Battlefield 6, the game runs perfectly smooth until I start clicking rapidly (automatic/semi-auto fire). When that happens, the game suffers heavy stutter / slow motion, almost like input lag or frame drops, and it only recovers once I stop clicking.

This does NOT happen when using the laptop touchpad (mousepad). With it, I can click as fast as I want with zero lag.

It DOES happen with external mice. I tested:

Razer Basilisk V3 (wired)

Another different mouse (same issue)

I already tried:

Changing polling rate (1000 / 500 / 250 Hz)

Uninstalling Razer Synapse completely

Removing mouse drivers and letting Windows reinstall them

Changing USB ports

Disabling overlays (Steam, EA App, Discord, Nvidia)

My system:

Asus Vivobook laptop

Intel i9 13th gen

16 GB RAM

RTX 4050 6 GB

Game runs stable otherwise (GPU/CPU temps and usage are fine)

This makes me think it’s some kind of mouse input handling bug, USB/input flood issue, or a problem with how the game processes rapid click events.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Any workaround or known fix?
