I am installing BF4 on a fresf win8.1 install. If it works something is up with my win7 OS, or hosts file or something..

I installed win8.1 on a new hdd and I am able to connect and play just fine on servers.

Now I need to see what the hell is wrong with my win7 OS or settings that are causing an issue with LSX server.

Any Ideas where I can start?

  • Hello @go7roo7, I'm glad you got it working again.

As I've said previously your problem was a strange one. I haven't come across similar on these forums that couldn't be fixed by the steps you'd previously tried.

Did you talk to any of the offical EA games advisors to see if they can shed some more light on what exactly was going wrong?

Heres a step-by-step process on how to contact an EA games advisor http://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-Help-Beta/How-to-contact-a-Game-Advisor-using-the-new-EA-Help-page/td-p/2161281

I did but they all told me the same scripted stuff.

    restart your router...

    check for malware....

    uninstall origin/ Battlefield....

    turn off firewall....

Something is obviously wrong with my OS, since the game worked just fine on a fresh install.

Now its just a matter of finding out what is causing Origin to not find the LSX server...hell I even checked my hosts file to see if any IP was being blocked, or if any malware was running me through a proxy...
