8MB update stopped game running

I own an xbox360 and have recently downloaded the required 8MB update to play online, this prevents the main menu loading and says my disc is unreadable. Before jumping to conclusions I have done all possible ways to launch the game with different dlcs installed and HD content and the other disc and this applies to both discs but isn't the disc because it is fine and not with any other games, only BF4. From all of this I have ascertained that it is the 8MB mandatory update because it runs fine with out it. Please help!
