Any news on a Battlefield 6 public Alpha/Beta?

Hey all, I really hope EA Dice continues the theme of running public betas for Battlefield.

I remember playing the BF Hardline and BF4 public betas back in the day, fingers crossed we get one for BF6!

  • No news so far. Fingers crossed they do run a public alpha/beta again, I suspect they will though.

  • Don’t think they will confirm until after the imminent ‘reveal’

I would guess there will be a beta but only just to give us all a free demo, I don't expect any alpha.

They said yesterday they are in daily Playtesting mode and polishing the game, so it seems they won't need a beta. Especially since there is still 6-7months left until release and they are already polishing and balancing.

  • I'm sure there will be early access periods but I imagine it won't be until after E3 before we get any dates of such things.

@CarbonCarl , is it fair to assume that the beta will this time around for our next BF be for both the PC and the PS5 console?

Just wonder, as EA will need to test out also the cross platform mode before letting it loose into the wild...

Otherwise all agreed.  The Alpha will be EA in-house only.  While the beta will be for their signed up beta volunteers and select members of the BF community...

If there is a beta then I’m sure it would be on all platforms and my guess is it would possibly be open.
As for cross play, I’d love to be able to test out that side of it, it’s one feature I’m hoping for but along with everything else it’s not yet official.
  • Hello @loque_uk

I'm sure we will get Beta for new Battlefield game at some point this year. Not sure about Closed Alpha but Beta is always great to test the game so Devs can change some things before the Full Game releases. 🙂
  • A Battlefield open Beta is just a promotional demo. It comes too late to fix enough stuff.

Games like BF need a longtime testing period  so they better have a long Alpha/Beta and they better not just pick esport sweatlords for the testing, there are vehicle players and even more regular players who might feel differently than a competitive player about things

  • @loque_uk If DICE continues with past schedules the Beta is usually in the August/September timeframe after the closed Alpha.
