Battle field Hardline has stopped working

Loads the user screen ok, but when I try to start a campaign or multiplayer game it comes up with BFH has stopped working, windows is closing program and will let you know when a solution is found. No error codes, just will not run the actual game.

@RayDoyle45 I would recommend to repair your install first. Open your Origin client, go to your Games Library and rightclick on the BF:Hardline  icon. Choose "Repair Install" to check if this issue is related to some corrupted data.

Update your Direct X, video-card drivers, your soundcard driver (especially if you use a Realthek HD card) and Microsoft .NET framwork.

Please try the following workarounds and keep us updated:

    Cheers

If you have NVIDIA graphic card, please download the HOTFIX HERE

    GeForce Hotfix driver 353.38

This is a GeForce Hot Fix driver, version 353.38 that addresses the following issues:

    • Chrome Crashes/Freezes/TDRs
    • Delays when starting or switching apps & games with GSYNC enabled (Can be the source of crash)

    This can help 😉

This guide applies to any game, NOT limited to just the DA: I game at all:

As neither of the two I addressed this to had given enough data to allow us a chance to help you, I had suggested you follow the linked FAQ's procedures.  You have not done so.  We must now presume you solved it for yourself without our help.

  • Hello!!! @RayDoyle45

    Reinstall DirectX.
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield H\__Installer\directx\redist
    2. Find a file named DXSETUP.exe, Right click on it and select Run As Adminstrator. Install it, and it should have updated your DirectX installation.
    3. Restart your computer
    4. Try to launch and play the game.

Make sure your drivers are updated.

Be sure that you've disabled Ad Blocking software (For an example AdBlocker) in your browser and be sure that you are using the latest version of Adobe Flash.

For Battlefield on PC, Enable the following online ports on your connection:

    TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
    UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300

For specific instructions on how to open your ports, please visit http://www.portforward.com/ or contact your router manufacturer.

Also see this EA Help article for information on opening TCP or UDP ports: http://help.ea.com/en/article/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/

Are you running the game as Administrator?
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield H) and find BfH.exe. Right click it and go to Properties, then Compatability and tick the box next to Run this as Adminstrator.

Do the same with BFH_x86.exe as well.
Now you can try playing the game.

    Reinstall C++ redistributables.
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield H\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist
    2. Right Click on vcredist_x64.exe and choose Run As Adminstrator then follow onscreen prompts.

    Good luck!

I had the same problem took ages to find a solution it turned out to be my antivirus  avg  after allowing it through avg hardline is working fine. hope this helps you or anybody else who has this problem. after repairing and reinstalling several times and could not find a decent answer on any forums this one worked

  • I tried everything. I am running Windows 10
    This worked for me.
    I disabled avast
    Go to your bfh folder
    On the bfh.exe
    Right click on properties
    Change to read/write
    Ok
Change the compatibility mode to Windows 8
    Run the game
    Select mantel as the renderer
    Close the game.
Uncheck the compatibility mode on the bfh.exe file.
    Run the game.
    Should work fine now.
