Battlefield 1 Cross-platform? (PS5/PS4)

Is battlefield cross platform for ps5 and PS4? I have a ps5 but was unsure if I could play with a friend that has a PS4.

    @Nandr0_o

    Yes, it is possible to play with PS4 friends even if you're on PS5.

    The reason is, that this type of Cross-platform in your case is no real Cross-platform i would say.

    As you stay within PSN, it's simply working just because it's about the Game version itself. Not about the actual Platform. 

    So as you still start a PS4 game (just on the PS5 console) it's still a PS4 based game, and therefore all players within PSN will be able to play together.

    About installing the game, if you have the Disc version you can either insert the Disc and install it the usual way or if you have it Digital you should be able to find it in your Library or otherwise search for it in the PS Store again (should be free if you own it already)

    > also make sure you reinstall all the needed add-ons like Premium and the DLC packs again that you own for this game.

    i would like to confirm that "YES" you can play with your friend who plays on ps4 however you play on ps5.

    @Mo3tazibrahim Do you know how to install PS4 version? I was online with a friend and we could see that each other was online but it wouldn't let me invite them

    there is no version for ps4 you can download to ps5. 
    simply go to your ps5 library and install the game then wait till online features installed and play with your friend.
    to make sure try to invite him on an empty server it works 100% as some times full servers will not allow you to invite anyone.

    Yet another reason why to use a PC: you're not forced to buy a new " platform " every couple of years, and if you buy a second hand PC for about 300 dollar/euro you can still run it better than most xbox/playstations, and in the mean time have a computer to do any kind of work itself, apart from playing games. PC platform is the same 1985, major change is 32-bit applications now 64, that's about it.
