Battlefield 1 lags extremely everytime i join a server
Hello everyone,
I played Battlefield 1 very actively 3 years ago with no problems and now wanted to return after a long break as it is still one of my favorite games.
However, I suddenly have massive FPS / lag issues every time I join a server.
As soon as I join the game and want to spawn, I have about 1-2 minutes of extreme FPS drops and a very strong lag, which makes every round start unplayable for me and ensures that I can only spawn with a delay or react at all making it impossible for me to take flags, choose vehicles or let alone shoot and hit.
After these approx. 2 minutes the game runs mostly stable, apart from a few FPS drops in between. However, the whole thing only lasts until the end of the round, when the problem occurs again.
Battlepacks can only be opened between the individual rounds with an extremely blatant lag, which also means that I hardly dare to click or adjust anything between the rounds, because I am guaranteed to miss the start every time.
I have already tried everything I know to counteract this problem:
- Graphics changed to Low / Ultra, makes no difference
- Graphics Driver is up to date.
- DX12 set on / off
- Frame rate adapted to the screen
- Gametime.Maxvariablefps 60 in the console on / off
- VSYNC on / off
- Have Battlefield repaired via Origin
- Microsoft Game Mode on / off
- Origin overlay disabled in-game
- All background processes in Windows deactivated
- All other running programs deactivated
- The HDD on which Battlefield is installed has been defragmented, it also has 120GB of free space
My current specs are as follows:
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel i7 4770
- RAM: 16GB
- Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 1070
Just for comparison: Star Wars Battlefront 2, which is installed on the same HDD, runs completely error-free with a stable 60FPS on maximum settings. Therefore I rule out a hardware error on my part.
I am now slowly desperate and I would be very happy about any help to finally be able to enjoy the game again!
Greetings.
- @Bruh_TJP Hey, i just found the solution for this problem and wanted to let you know, in case it works for you as well!
What i did was a clean deinstall of all graphic drivers and related files with DDU:
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Make sure to restart your PC in safe mode before you use it.
Then just run the program and select the things you want to deinstall.
Its really easy to use and also shows you whats recommended to deinstall and whats not.
After it cleaned everything the program will restart your PC in normal mode.
Now you just install the latest Driver again and you`re done!
Battlefield 1 is now completely lag free for me and runs as smooth as butter on Ultra settings, like it used to!
I hope that helps and please let me know if that was also your solution.
cheers
