Solved

battlefield 1 not launching pc

I am unable to launch Battlefield 1 at all through Origin or on its own, both on administrator rights.
Once I launch Battlefield, no error windows appear and nothing happens the game just closes.
It is a fresh install of Battlefield, as is Windows, as I had driver issues which are now resolved (I assume).
I haven't got as far as having a game window appear.

I have attached DXDIAG for your visual pleasure

Same issue for me, tried all steps in this topic but bf1 still does nothing when clicking play on origin.

    any other tips?

  • Hi again Sirens-charms,

In Origin, right click on the game and choose "Update" just in case it still wants more. Also you can try right clicking on the game, and choose "Repair".

    Does this work?

This has not worked, no. I tried checking for updates this morning along with a repair which took an hour, which again resolved nothing.
P.s. Thank you for the quick replies I do appreciate your help 🙂

  • You can also try this:

    1. Start Origin, go to the top left, Select Origin – Application Settings – Origin in Game – deselect “”Enable Origin in Game”, also in BF1 games properties.

    2. Right Click on the BF1 in Game Library – Select Game Properties and add -noborder -r:1920x1080 in Advanced Launch Option - Command Line arguments.

If you are using different resolution change the above resolution to your default.

Not entirely sure what worked but a system reboot worked. After doing yet another reinstall of origin (install #5) and checking game files and updates etc the game somehow worked. So I thank you for your persistence with your help I am very grateful! Cheers for that!

I have the same problem (After starting a game, few seconds nothing than Origin client again on focus). First happened in April. I don't quite remember what helped (uninstall the game, uninstall Origin client, deleted ProgramData\Origin folder ...) But I could play again. Yesterday happened again. Same problem with BF1 and SW BF2. I did again everything like in April, but still no go. It seems that everytime games are updated, the problem comes back.

Games were working OK before, so no need to question if I have a minimum hardware requirement. It seems that "older" games are not affected (BF3,4, TF 1,2). But obviously, they weren't updated recently.
