Battlefield 1 won't launch and just runs as a background process till it crashes

This has happened to me numerous of times in the past as well. I simply can't launch any games via Origin or the EA App. Battlefield 1 just runs as a background process till it stops running, and Battlefield 4 just shows a black screen for a couple of minutes with about 64MB RAM usage, no CPU usage, then after a while the typical loading gif with the 3 bars appear at the top right and the program jumps to about 256MB of RAM usage with like 13% CPU usage, though it still refuses to load. Both of the games are launched/stored within steam, but the same issue happens to Garden Warfare 2, which is bought and only launched via the EA App. GW2 suffers basically exactly the same issue as BF1.

In the past I usually could uninstall the EA App, reboot, reinstall it and it would work again typically till my next restart. I tried it again though it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Also, Is there anywhere I can find log files for Battlefield 1?

  • @gksvr1 That article is in Russian, also I managed to solve it, by using my method again but deleting every single EA/Origin folder in AppData. Wouldn't be surprised if I would have to do it again after I reboot though.

@EngineerPortrait, That's really weird, I have fixed the links and It should be displaying in English now.

Anyway, great to hear that you managed to solve it! If you ever face any issue, don't hesitate to let us know!

    Have a wonderful day!

  • @gksvr1 Thank you, though I wouldn’t call this a solution to my problem since this is the temporary fix I’ve basically been using ever since I had this issue, it always comes back it seems.

The article keeps redirecting me to the Russian one regardless by the way, even on Tor. (It doesn’t really matter)
