[Battlefield 1943] Battlefield 1943 for XBOX 360 will not connect

I just bought and downloaded Battlefield 1943 with microsoft points (1200).  It asks me to log in with my EA email and password, but it just keeps saying connecting for hours.  How do I play the game...

    My son too paid for the download for his xbox 360 and is forever stuck trying to connect. We've spent too much time searching threads of how to fix the issue. EA/Origin......please do the right thing.......nothing complicated.......fix it or allow the refund. Is that too much to ask?
