Network Error: Login Failed .... over and over again.
Every once in a while, I will be presented with a Terms of Service Screen, but no matter what I do, I get an error indicating that the game cannot connect to EA online. After that, it goes back to the Network Error: Login Failed.
Speaking of failures, EA is quickly becoming a gigantic failure in my book. Two weeks of being unable to play and EA being unable to fix BF 1943 is beyond ridiculous. Day by day, EA is killing this game, is destroying its goodwill, and is even hurting Microsoft's goodwill. Some players are spending their Microsoft points to download this game and are unable to play it. Some players are seeing EA's incompetece on XBOX and are wondering whether their next console will be an XBOX. And many players, including this one have all but decided that they will not be purchasing Battlefield 4 when it comes out. If EA can't make things right, I'll switch to the Call of Duty franchise ... at least their stuff works! What do you think I've been playing while BF 1943 has been down?
And don't even get me started on EA's help desk. I spent about an hour and a half with EA's help desk the other day. At the end of all of the holds, transfers, computer problems, and supervisor consults, I was left with "EA is aware of the problem and is working to fix it but cannot give an estimate as to when the problem will be solved. An HOUR and a HALF for that semi-useless answer! A stupid message to that effect in a phone tree would have been better ... at least my time wouldn't have been wasted. And as friendly as the help desk tries to be, it's obvious that they don't have the tools they need to provide good service. At one point I told the help person ... "it seems like EA has put you in a difficult position." And while the help desk did it's best to side-step my comment, I could tell that I didn't even know the half of it.
I'll take a wild guess here, but to me, EA's recent mass layoffs, the recent DOS attacks on EA, and EA's inability to fix BF1943 seem like they might just be related. EA brings in over a billion dollars last quarter, makes almost 200 Million in net income for the quarter (more than trippling the quarter the year prior), and what do we get? Profits over people. Profits over EA's employees. Profits over EA's customers.
After all this is there any wonder why EA has been named "The Worst Company in America" for two years in a row now? EA's Executive Chairmain, Larry Probst recently said in an internal memo that his focus is on ensuring that EA is delivering high quality games and services and that EA wants to "demonstrate to players around the world why they should spend their time with us." Well you're off to a PATHETIC START Mr. Probst. I've spent two weeks trying to spend time with EA, and EA WON'T FRIGGIN LET ME!!! You want to get started making this right Mr. Probst? Get me and my friends back on BF 1943 STAT, and release a new BF 1943 map for free with a handwritten apology, signed by you, and posted at the airfield for everyone to see! And hype the hell out of it so we get get back some of the new blood that EA has run off from the game.
