Battlefield 2/ INSTALLATION on Win 10Pro 64bit?

I have all the Battlefield games.  The only one I cannot install for some reason is Battlefield 2.  The program begins and I input the code..  The installation begins, but when it gets to wanting the second disk it quits after I put in the second disk and hit yes.  I expected compatibility issues as I am running WIN 10 Pro 64bit, and I think the game was made and runs on 32bit.

The other games installed through Origin, but this one is not available and I have tried everything.  Any help?

  • I have the BF2 DVD and it says WinXP. I have win7 and should try installing it, before I duel boot with WinXP. Going back to old SP games sounds good about now. They would have to take Win7 from my cold dead hands, before I switch to 10.
  • I got the game installed on Win7, but got an error when I went to play. Tried Winxp 32 compatibility and it still didn't work. Tried the same thing with the on-line icon and it ask for the CD and worked. : ) Didn't work at first, but got lucky after fooling around. Game looks awesome and fun watching the AI play the game, flying the heli, calling in artillery strikes. lol. Looking forward to playing it. Just hope it keeps working. Online I heard bf2hud had to be installed first. I got BF2 special forces too. : )

I had NO ISSUES at all playing on Win 7.  It is WIN10 Pro 64bit that is not letting my install go through.  My computer with Win7 plays fine.

Are you still stuck at installing the 2nd disk? What do you mean it's quits? Does it quit installing, freezes or closes to desktop? Things I would try, cleaning the disk, using a different cd rom. And even using a paper clip to push the little button on the cd rom to open it and then close it again. Yeah the cd will be spinning, but so what. The game also needed the BF2 1.41 client patch, BF2 1.5 patch and the BF2 Hub. If you haven't installed those, I would try installing those, especially the BF2 Hub. Maybe the game has to be installed before the patches, but I would try anyways. And mean while keep trying to get the 2nd disk to install. If that don't work tap/bang the PC a couple times on the side. lol.

Looks like people here have it running, so no reason why you shouldn't be able to get it working either.
