Okay that sounds like an registry issue but as you tried to clean the registry already we need to dig a little bit deeper in to the problem. Could you provide us some more information about your hardware? You should try to run the installer in the windows XP comparability mode, sometimes installer from older games have issues especially with 64bit clients. You can activate your game via Origin and download the gameclient there. Download and install the latest version of Origin at www.origin.com/download (and make sure you have your Origin account ready as well). Sometimes older games can cause trouble with code redemption directly with the Origin client. To redeem your code with Origin, please try to activate your codes on following activation website instead of using the Origin client for redemption.
Please keep us updated!

Hello Bastian,
I've got the same issue with windows 7 64. I tried to run the installer in windows Xp compatibility mode, and it didn't work out.
I also tried to activate it via Origin (both client and website), but since my game was purchased before 2009, it appears as invalid.
My hardware has not changed since the last time I played battlefield 2 (it was about 1 year ago), and my drivers are up to date.
Do you have any idea about what I should do?
I really like this game, and I'd rather not have to buy it again.
thank you in advance, and please excuse my bad english.
Max
