Whoa!..mee too.. i bought mine the day after yours..and im getting the same big updates?..9GB?..WTH?!..thats why i bought the game..to install and play..then why in the hell would they let me download and install another 9gb of massive file?....i could not even launch the game ..it keeps asking to reinstall..i have reinstalled a dozen times already but still cannot play the game..one of the reasons why i bought this game because i saw bf4 is coming..havent played bf3 yet so i gotta play this first before bf4..im so disappointed..i'll never get bf4!!...if i should have known this problem before i bought it..the hell i could have just pirately download it!!
It's an online game. You should expect patches. Since the game has been out for a long time you should have expected a lot of patches. Easily 9GB's worth since they contain new content as well.
You can always install and update the game on a laptop (or similar) at a friend/school/somewhere with good internet. Then copy the game data from there to your pc at home and overwrite the files, then you press repair game in Origin and your game will be updated.
