Battlefield 3 can't go past 40 FPS.

Hi.

I think a lot of people have this problem. My game performance can't get past 40 fps ( my PC specs: RTX 3060 Ti, I5 10400F and 32GB 2666mhz DDR 4 RAM). In Battlefield 4 i can get 144 fps with ease. Forcing dx11, creating user.cfg file with commands and disabling EA app overlay is useless. The only fix seems to be changing command Render.PerfOverlayEnable to 0. But here's problem. This command resets after every death, so it's pretty useless too.

The question is: how to force this command (Render.PerfOverlayEnable 0) to work all the time. Or maybe there is another fix which i don't know.

Please help, because game is perfect, but a small performance boost would be much appreciated 🙂.

  • Hello @Bartomoleusz,

I have yet to see an issue of this nature for Battlefield 3. Nothing much I can recommend except to reinstall Battlefield 3, update your graphic card drivers. If the mentioned does not work, you should contact EA support for assistance.

    Hi, @danisoff

Unfourtnately EA Support did not help me. I tried run the game on Fedora (Linux) on Steam using Proton and Bottles. The best part is that i was able to have stable 144 fps. On Windows 11 i still can't go past 40 fps, so it has something to do with my system settings somehow. One day i will try to reinstall Windows and see what will happen with the game. Nonetheless thank you for support.

    Best regards,

  • Do you have by any change a 3rd party program running which installed a a virtual gpu? I had the same problem with citrix workspace, a program i use for home office.
