Battlefield 3 DirectX error

Hi!
I'm having troubles with Battlefield 3. I can't play for more than 5 minutes that my computer freezes and afert a few seconds a window appears telling me: "DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed commands... GPU: "AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series"; Driver: 13.1 (9.0.12-121219a-151592C-ATI)". It's very annoying and i hope it's possible to solve it. Thanks for your help!

  • Open your origin PC client, right click the BF3 icon and select "repair".  If that doesn't solve the problem download the latest Direct X package from Microsoft and manually update your direct X installation.

Origin says that my version of BF3 is updated to the last version and there were no installation files damaged. Also, i have the lastest version of Direct X 11. I really don't know what's happening...

The 13.1 catalyst driver is 8 months old, I would try updating it to the new 13.10 beta driver that just came out. Using it myself without any problems.

Since it didn't help me, i didn't press the XP button. Anyway, I tried to download the lastest version of Direct X, but it looks like it's a catalyst, or someting like that, problem, as you said. Can you tell me how to update it? Thanks

It looks like that, after downloading the new catalyst/driver, now the game works fine. Thank you. One last question: is it possible that the new catalyst will make my game performance better? I mean, better FPS, better resolution and stuff
