Battlefield 3 Download

I cannot connect to a game at the moment in BF3 and the symptoms are different to last night where I am sure this was due to the ongoing DoS attack (for which, my sympathies).

I tried right clicking on the BF3 entry in the Origin window and selecting 'Repair Install'.  I was then invited to undertake another 5GB+ download.  As I had to download 1.7GB on Friday and another 4.7GB on Monday I am reluctant to do this.  Do I really need to dowload the whole installation on an almost daily basis?  Is the application really so unstable?

I would appreciate your advice as it is clearly unreasonable to expect that the file is corrupt.

  • Hi there,

You shouldn't need to install them again, but I recommend you to do so.
Let me know if the problem persists after the installation.

Also, most of the server problem is over now.

Last night I downloaded the game file again (6GB+) and restarted the game.  When I try to connect now I get a message I have seen before of 'You were disconnected from EA Online ⚽'. Neither informative nor helpful.  I have gone again to the Origin window and selected 'Repair Install' after right clicking on the Battlefield 3 choice.  This time I have cancelled the download of a 3.9GB file.

Quite obviously it is not realistic to constantly download files which do not actually repair anything.  If you are aware of any likely cause please let me know.  Please do not suggest that I download the game file again without also providing some evidence of why this will help rather than just selecting this as an easy option.  It clearly does not work.
