I've got the same issue the battle feed reads unable to initialize and I have to restart the PS3 to exit the screen I can play single player but if I select anything on the menu that entails connecting to ea it locks up on the menus screen. They sent a email with fixes did it all ( wasted my time) I've got a rented server that I've been unable to enter for 7 days now!!
I have identified that the problem is linked to the premium pass.
Delete all of battlefield 3 from ps3 and install again using only the basic online pass the problem has been resolved.
When you install the premium pass you can only play in the main account, the other accounts lock on the initial screen of bf3.

Strange, this solution worked well for me.
I saw in another topic an EA administrator David stating that ten days ago there was a back-end change on their servers.

Could you post a link to that if you have the time ? I'm thinking of buying a used one to see if it's my cd, but it's in mint shape . Funny how I just renewed the lease on my server for 3 months a couple days before this happened! I'm pretty pissed off
- Anonymous7 years agoI am playing on the same account that I bought my premium pass with and it still causes the game to freeze in the menus.

Read the thread ,, you have to delete it re install it go to the PlayStation store and download the online pass for free however your going to lose your premium maps ,, at least I did and a * off seeing I've been renting a server for over a year at about 250 bucks a year!!
