Battlefield 3 has stopped working. Desperate for a fix

I've had Battlefield 3 for a year or so, and I have never encountered any problem with it but I stopped playing for 6 months and then found my way back to it. It worked for a few days but then suddenly when I tried to join a server it just closed down and a windows error message comes up saying that the game has stopped working, I have contacted EA support and even sent them my dxdiag file, they told me I should try to do a clean restart but I haven't tried that yet because I'd like to try other fixes before I try that solution. Does anyone have any idea how to make this stop?

I turned off cloud data for Battlefield 3 in Origin and then deleted the PROF_SAVE_BODY but it only made it work temporarily, after a while it started happening again, I've tried doing it many times and now not even that is working. I reinstalled the game 2 times and I am still getting that problem, so please anyone who has an idea of how to fix this, help me, I'm desperate for a solution here.

    Please do post your dxdiag for us to see, also we'll need to know more about your PC's specs.  In the mean time I recommend that you open your PC origin client, go to your game library and right click the BF3 icon and select the "repair" option.  Allow the repair to run and after try to play BF3 again to see if that solves your problem.

    Are you receiving any error messages or error codes when the game won't work?

    Also ensure that your drivers are all up to date via Windows update and update your GPU drivers as well.

    I have already tried repairing it several times, it did not fix it at all, not even for a moment

    My processor is an i5 3570k 3.40 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX670 graphic card.
