I brought Battlefield 3 on steam and it was all fine until recently about one month ago, launching the campaign of Battlefield 3 through the web battlelog will leave me sitting in a state where the game is initializing and won't launch no matter how long I wait. Have tried reinstall everything from the game itself, origin to punkbuster and nothing works. Any idea as to why this is the case?

yes it is, Origin, Steam and web version of Battlelog are all open.

@OJSU I just had this happen earlier in the week it was extremely frustrating. I found a fix earlier this morning so please try these steps in order:1. Uninstall Battlefield 3 in Steam2. Hold the Windows key + R.3. In the command box that opens, type %ProgramData%/Origin then click OK.4. Go into LocalContent folder and delete Battlefield 3's folder5. Navigate to This Pc /Local Disk (C🙂/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common and delete the Battlefield 3 folder (your location may be different if you didn't use the default installation location)6. Restart your PC7. Install Battlefield 3 on Steam. Hit Play in Steam to finalize Installation8. Join a server via Battlelog while Steam and Origin are both running.

Sadly, I've tried all those steps multiple times and it did not solve the problem. I am still stuck on 'joining server' and 'initializing'

@OJSU Which browser are you using on Battlelog? Have you tried disabling script and ad blockers while using Battlelog as sometimes those will prevent Battlelog from functioning?

Hey @OJSU We done an update to Origin. Do you still have the same issue?

Yes, Just redownloaded the game and tested it out. The issue still exists.

i have same problem but only got the game through origin. tried to start the campaign and it says initialize and loads endlessly
