Here's the problem. I bought a used copy of Battlefield 3 Limited Edition for PS3. I have played a regular version of the game prior to buying the Limited Edition, but I deleted it before installing ...
You cannot get it for free without the code included with the game. Even if the code was included, it was most likely already used already considering the game was used. The online pass is not how you get Back to Karkand for free, the limited edition code is.
You would have to contact the place you purchased the game from to get a new copy of the limited edition game with an un-used code.
