Battlefield 3: more options for server owners

i have been renting servers since we were given the ability to do so on PS3. the one problem i have is that even when i try to have a private unranked match with pistols only, shotguns only, bolt actions only, etc. i have to hope that everyone abides by the rules and not use any other weapon. then there is always the random troll that comes into the server and does the exact opposite or the rules. if there was some sort of menu that admins or owners could select/deselect weapons/gadgets, people would not be able to spawn with weapons that aren't allowed. that would be awesome for special themed matches it would be a welcome option for server owners. just a suggestion

    This is a good thing in UNRANKED matches to have fun but doesnt suite ranked matches since you can only use the guns that suite you.

    But this may not happen since many players dont play unranked matches.

    Solution:

    Always kick the guy who violates the rules.

    Yeah I agree with this. If you make an un-ranked server, you should be able to make it so that what weapons you can use and not use. For example, If put no M416, nobody should be able to use this weapon at any point until you change it.

    I think DICE has better plans for ranked games than for unranked games...

    It is very unlikely that this will happen.

    If you are talking about PS3 Server i can not help, if you are talking about PC servers run the Procon layer tool. You can install automatic rules that kill each one using a defined weappon. Very usefull to prevent servers from getting [Comment Removed - Admin.] by Spas 12 Monsters. Google for Procon Tool Bf3 out there.

    kyuubiclone's question was regarding UNRANKED servers, but isn't the TOS (Rules of Conduct) referring to RANKED server administration?

    my idea is for the server owners to have this weapon menu screen. where you can tick a checkbox system to decide what weapons/gadgets/support items will be allowed for players to use upon spawning into the game. UNRANKED only. this will make unranked games a lot more mangageable and less hassle for admins to police their servers. it will also make custom games, like the popular zombie BF3 mode that DICE had for a community event, more playable without having to deal with the random trolls that try to ruin people's good fun times.

    I agree, that would be a pretty useful feature for events or just some classic FUN servers.
