Battlefield 3 PC Controller Support

So I decided to install and play through the campaign today. First time I'd ever booted BF3. Loved BF2:BC, and FPS in general. Because it was campaign, wanted to relax, lean back and use the controller. Got to the first quicktime event on the train with the shotgun, and no button presses work whatsoever. Also, button prompts remain firmly for mouse and keyboard controls.

My question is essentially - why bother offering gamepad as an option, if you don't change the button prompts and ensure it works? Like, I get it's a big game with a lot of content, and undoubtedly took a lot of people a lot of time to make. So why allow something so small - yet inescapably relevant to a section of PC gamers - slip by?

Just super confused.

EA takes a firm stand against the Dark Arts including the act of Necromancy so I am closing this thread since the last response was 10 years ago. Please create a new thread if you have an issue with the controller in BF3.
