BattleField 3, Single Player, Game Crashes early in The Great Destroyer mission

If you are having issues loading your games or are having issues while playing your game, you should try the Repair Install feature in Origin. Note: This applies to newer games downloaded via Origin. Older games may not have the Repair Install function.

This feature checks all local files on your computer against the files Origin has on their servers. If there are any corrupt files or discrepancies, those files will be replaced or downloaded again. The file check can take up to an hour to complete depending on the type of hardware you are using. Repair Install will first 'Check' the installation you have on your computer and then automatically download any replacement or missing files.

To use Repair Install for your game:

1. Go to My Games in Origin
2. Right-click the game image
3. Select "Repair Install"

I did as you suggested - right clicked  and the Repair Game option was there. It went through the verification process - then for a brief moment it repaired something - - then was installing for a minute.

But now i cannot even play the game. When I click [Play] in the origin launcher, it briefly shows the cloud sync bar then . . . . . just nothing. The game wont even start now? Iv'e tried many times - offline and online - but no . . . no start.

Sorry - an update on my previous post.

Now I can play the game. I gave up on it before -  went and had tea - then retried the game and was able to play it. Unfortunately the problem mentioned in the original post still remains unsolved.

I was thinking I could start a new player and go through all the missions again to see if the problem is with corrupt player files???  I don't know.

Ha! Ha! the jokes on me..

the point in the game where the 'crash' occurs is the same point where all the missions start - - with Blackburn jumping onto the train in the exact same position.

Would have been nice to have been notified in game when you have completed all the missions, but the developers had a sense of humor and decided to let the player be either fooled into thinking the game had 'crashed' or remember that that is where he started . . . . and so to join the dots  . . .

regarding story line of the game - it 'crashes' in about the 12th mission - in the exact same scenario where the game starts in the 1st mission. (The story line is not sequencial - sometimes the story line is a re-enaction of Blackburn's memory of a past segment . . . 

I wish there were some other BF3 players reading these posts who are familiar with these missions, they would know what i'm talking about.

This thread is not resolved though. Until someone who knows tells me that the 'crash' is purposeful?? But that is not likely - bacause it (the 'crash') can only be escaped from by Ctrl Alt Delete.

Thanks for your input. Am happy to say that I have been able to progress past that 'crash' point by attempting [The Great Destroyer] mission in Easy Mode. I got past that point and finished the missions with a Credits Roll at the end. (That was also the The Great Destroyer mission which appears to be the last mission of single player missions)

In order to finish Battlefield 3 the great Destroyer and the train jum, your solution is this:

When it tells you to hit the "space" key to jump, instead, hit the "space" key and your "jump" key at the same time! This will get you to the finish
