Battlefield 3 is indeed backward compatible with Xbox One, so everything should work. Here is the list of backward compatible games http://www.xbox.com/en-IE/xbox-one/backward-compatibility. What is the error message you are getting?

just says "This game isnt playable here"
Is this a way of saying disc is damaged I wonder

Potentially, have you tried the multiplayer disc? I've successfully played the BF3 multiplayer on Xbone, but haven't tried the single player campaign.

Any chance the disc itself can be damaged? Can you test it with Xbox 360? And help from all other users is really appreciated.

You need to do the multi player disc... For me it's a 28.8gb download
