DOWNLOAD PAUSED

Origin tried to download Battlefield 4 but was unable to. Just go back and select yes when Windows asks permissing to continue.

Now the problem is:

I don't get a windows screen, i tried putting uac on max and on min still same error.

Tried reinstalling origin 3 times, still same error.

I tried running as admin, still the same error..

I'm out of options, can anyone help me?

  • Hi again, thats very annoying.

Are you installing Origin from the disc or from the Origin website?

Completely uninstall Origin and then go to the origin site and download the latest version of it.
    -Uninstall and Reinstall Origin. https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-origin

    Then.........

    -Run Origin as Administrator
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatability tab and tick the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

And.......try to download the game again (with anti virus turned off)

    Still the same error..

  • If you go to Origin --> My Games can you right click on the BF4 icon to choose 'repair?
If so, then when its completed right click the icon and choose check for 'update'.

  • When trying to download the game did you try opening the following ports on your PC?

    TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
    UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300

For specific instructions on how to open your ports, please visit http://www.portforward.com/ or contact your router manufacturer.

It's a security ACL for the C:\programdata\origin folder and subfolders.

right click on the folder and you may see that not all users have access to the folder.

This is why download works in safemode as the security ACL is disabled

Trying to amend this may resuilt in an error (as the parent programdata folder is likely got different ACL than you need)

Anyway long story short (too late)

    rename your origin folder (originX)

on desktop create a new folder Origin, right click and set the ACL to unrestricted for all users, copy the folder into Program data and copy the files from OriginX to your new Origin.

Worked for me and I've tried all the solutions..!!!
