Thought i'd post this just in case it could help somebody....This direct x crash/bug was preventing me from completing the campaign and also crashing in multiplayer all the time. I had installed ALL the latest patches, drivers etc and tried everything i had read to fix this with no success. Finally i came across a post from one guy (that seemed to be ignored by everyone on that thread) which suggested something i hadn't tried. IT'S about 80% better now! still crashes occasionally but the campaign was finished in short order and in multiplayer it only crashes once or twice in every 3-4 hour session.
The fix was......set the video settings in game to ultra. thats it nothing else. For me choosing low/high/custom or any other setting seems to produce the direct x crash? I don't know if it will work for anyone else, but i did for me,at least until Dice/EA fix their broken game.
