Battlefield 4 LAN Party Issue(s)

How do you setup a home network to allow multiple systems/users (all licensed and working properly at their own homes) to play battlefield 4 on the same online server.  We tried to do this, but it only allows one system/user (all PCs BTW) to connect at a time.  The first can connect, but when any others connect the first (or previous) user get's booted ...

The goal is to allow a group of my friends to come over with their systems and to have all of us play BF4 on the same server using my high speed network connection.

  • Hello.

You need to go into your Router's configuration page by opening your browser and entering the address :  192.169.1.1

    ( or your router manufacturer's equivalent )

And then go into the advanced area,  Look for "Virtual Server" or something that allows you to configure PC's on the same network.

You will need to load cmd prompt on both computers and then type  " ipconfig /all " on both computers in order to get the physical IP address of each machine,  Each machine will have an address such as :

    192.168.1.2(preferred)

    192.168.1.3(preferred)

Which is listed in the command prompt.

What you need to do,  Is type the IP addresses into the virtual server on your router and assign a port range for each PC as shown below.

    Hope this helps.

We tried this but it did not work.  Can you confirm the settings you show on the image?  Should all the port numbers be the same?  We did use different / verified local lan IP addresses (192.168.10.19 and .20).  Any other ideas?

That's really all I can say on this,  Those were the ports I assigned to BF3 to allow 2 computers on the same network to connect to multiplayer together.

They don't specifically need to be using that particular port range,  but I found that port range allowed myself and my fiancee on BF3 multiplayer together.

You could try other port ranges though and see how you both fare.

Disable UPNP if it is enabled in your router. Doing this me and two friends were able to successfully play through the same internet connection (besides all the server and client crashes).

You were almost there, all you lacked was the port porward comand to on your PC to accept the info from the router.

If your router is a Virgin super hub (crippled pice of cr@p) but ok for free. You need to use the DHCP reservation option, to this you need the MAC address of each computer.

Anoying bit, You can see your MAC address in the table so write them down. You CAN'T reserve an IP adress for an active MAC address so you have to log on to router one at a time and set resevation for the other machines. Hope that makes sence. Set the IP you want (last digit only) eg. 192.168.1.....2/3/4/5/6/ect. you can leave port at 80

    apply changes and restart router.

Next down load a piece of software(free) called smart port forward, helpful vids on you tube.

Search for tcp/udp port setting for battlefield 4. you need the listening port numbers, enter these in SPF(smart port forward)

Enter forward to your prefered IP address (done earlier in router). hit start all, and your away.

    good luck

How do I play BF4 on my home lan with my son?  We played BF2 for years - tried for a long time but can't find the option in BF4.  Especially bought the new one so we could do this.

Couldn't find Coop or Conquest mode choices either...
