Hi, Since for like 1 hour ago i keep getting this origin is not installed error please reinstall. I've reinstalled several times but it doesnt work. I've tried this: https://help.ea.com/article/origin-not-installed-message-when-trying-to-launch-battlefield-3 but that doesnt work either. I hope someone can help me...

I have the same issue, I have bought the LE version of BF4, installed from the DVD, which forced me to install Origin first, then the game, it ran updates for the game and added the CR expansion pack. All went fine.Then I tried to play the game, either from the start shortcut, or from the Origin application itself and I get the same error!It is bizarre that Origin launches the battlelog site, which requires the install of a plugin which then launches the game back in Origin which itself actually produces the error stating that Origin is not installed and is required to play you game..... why does a piece of software even include the text string to tell the user the same pieced of software is not installed. This sounds like this is a known bug and this is an attempt to identify it.In the very lengthy and quite surprising suggestion here and here http://help.ea.com/uk/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/ we are asked to manually uninstall the Origin application and edit the registry. Which I can only say I am absolutely gobsmacked that this is being suggested to an unknown end user.The statement "Remember that editing your computer's registry or files incorrectly can severely damage your operating system. We recommend having a computer professional perform these steps. If you are confident, however, that you can edit your registry successfully, then please follow the instructions below carefully." found in the instructions suggest to follow the recommendation I should have a computer professional complete these steps. But now clarification what a Computer Professional is or what qualifications they need.TLDRThe big issue with this, EA are suggesting to follow their recommended correction of this bug is to hire a professional, which indicates there is an additional cost attributed in order to play the Battlefield 4 game. In the UK this would be a breach of my Consumer Rights under the Sale of Good Act and the Price Marking Order 2004, which all include particulars regaridn clear and unambiguous pricing.Hey but I bet if I chose the other link in the Origin BF4 launcher to add an expansion pack it would find itself and the game just fine... for just £19.99So after years of dealing with CTD issues with EA games I switched to the Xbox for BF3, now I switch back hoping to play BF4 on the PC and look what I find, it's in a worse state than ever!Thanks EA, really thanks.

I have not even played one match yet. I just got a new computer, downloaded origins and battlefield. First match I try to load up says I can't play because origin is not installed (which it clearly is).I would just like to say I am not going to do all those steps that you mentioned. That is ridiculous that I would have to waste my time doing all kinds of things to try and get battlefield to recognize origin. It should be automatically recognized considering I booted the game from origin. I have hated origin for years, and this does not improve my view of it in any way. I have not and will not buy any games on origin. The only reason you guys have any business from me at all on origin is because you force people to use it for battlefield. I already questioned whether I was going to get battlefield 4 or not for the simple fact that I would have to use origin again, but I decided to get it because I had some extra money and some friends have the game on PC. This error is already making me regret my decision. Origin is terrible, just plain bad. I wouldn't even fix it if I were you. Just make your games available again without it again.

Did not work for me. I did all what that text said, and I still cannot play my game. Can I get a refund or can I play the game that I bought for 29,95€? I am so mad for this because all I wanted is to play my game, and this stupid Origin software doesn't run my game. Why do you have to put that kind of a software as a Battlefield 4 launcher?

F this. No one should not have to go through all the bells and whistles, just to play. Your system is screwed up, Constant connectivity issues, Game wont load ext.... I'm done dealing with this **bleep**. I know this is no sweat off you A**. but Origin will never recieve anymore of my money. Even if you tried already to clear your registry from all Origin entries, I would recommend to follow these steps again: To manually uninstall Origin, you will need to edit your system registry and remove the folders in a two-part process. NOTE: If you remove Origin, you will lose accessibility and playability to any downloaded games and manuals until you reinstall Origin. Remember that editing your computer's registry or files incorrectly can severely damage your operating system. We recommend having a computer professional perform these steps. If you are confident, however, that you can edit your registry successfully, then please follow the instructions below carefully. Remove the Origin program files: From the Start menu, select Computer. Select the hard drive; by default, Origin is installed on the C: drive. Select the Program Files folder; on 64bit systems, this will be called Program Files (x86). Right-click the Origin folder and select Delete. Backup the Windows registry: Hold down the Windows key and press R. At the Run command, type regedit and select OK. Select File, then Export. Under Export Range, select All. Choose a location and name for the backup file, then select Save. Remove the Origin registry keys: Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Expand the SOFTWARE folder. Thought I'd play some BF as I haven't done in a while. One of my favorite FPS games after all. Then this poo shows up, it's just ridiculous on so many levels that EA asks us to do all this * just to get the game to work. It's plain catastrophic really. If only these games would work on Steam.
I'm not going to play BF4 as it is. I refuse to go through all these steps JUST TO PLAY THE FRIGGIN GAME. It's cute that Origin tries to compete with Steam, but they are light years behind them. This money grabbing, * and non finished games policy EA is providing us is probably going to be their doom in the end. Seriously EA, get a grip

I followed all those steps and still nothing. Dear EA: Give up. You obviously suck at every game you make ad your client is no exception. At least Titanfall works, but your servers are absolutely horrible. Give up everything. Sell your games to steam and stop being such a terrible money hungry game company cause now, I will never buy another EA game solely on the principle of how bad you suck.
