Battlefield 4 PC- Looks like you're offline

I downloaded this game about a year ago and was able to play it quite easily with no problems or errors. However,I did a windows reinstall to fix another game, and now I can never get online with it, even though I have a 3ms ping and 40mbps internet deal. I live in South Africa, though I don't think that this has anything to do with it as we have our own servers.

Specs:

Windows 10 home on 128gb c drive

1 tb d drive(with battlefield installed on this one)

I5-2500

Nvidia Geforce 960

8 gigs ram

650 psu

    Try and enforce that you sign out of your Origin account and then sign back in again!
    That has helped most PC users in the past when having this issue (and when the EA game servers are not down for updates, as that will give you same error situation)
     
    Another area that can cause this is if you have committed some activity that violated the EA's terms of service.
    A temporary ban for going online can then be in effect.  E.g. if you have used a banned type of Avatar symbol etc.
    Don't know for sure, but would expect that you would have received an email from EA to your account if this was the case...

    Your Windows re-install clearly overwrote some of your Windows system configuration files and/or removed some of the dynamic link libraries in the Windows environment that are required for the BF4 program to run.   You will clearly need to run a full install of the BF4 program on your new Windows PC to get it back to work again.  Hope you have the BF4 install pack at hand still.

    I've already uninstalled and reinstalled it using Origin, and tried to repair it using the Origin repair tool. How would I go about doing a fresh install of the game without Origin?
    Otherwise I think I'm going to reinstall windows again

    What are the symptoms you see or error message you get in the game when trying to go online?

    It's just a message at the top of the screen that says "Looks like you're offline"

    OK @Deadliestprawn and you don't have the option on the screen with something like:

    Press "X" to go online?

    When I get that exact message on PS4 I just need to push X to connect to the EA server network and then I am good to go.

    At rare cases I have had to power down completely and made a cold restart of both console/PC and my local router/model network.

    After this it connected straight away at restart.

    I have certainly noticed that using 'hibernation mode' typically results in the EA network responds to you being OFFLINE next you try starting up the game.

    my friends,i want to tell you the solution of  battlefield 4 multiplayer "You are offline" game freezing and shutting error.

    and this solution i hope it will be solution of more other errors too.itis so easy to perform.

    open origin,go my game library,right click on your errored game select "move game" and create a folder to move.after this when itis finished  on origin go to your moved game folder.play the game from here.no errors after this..so much i searched this problem and at last after i moved the game to another folder i can play battlefield 4 without error.
