Battlefield 4 Server Files

Would be awesome if you, the Battlefield Team could give the Server Files to us...

Your player base would be pretty much higher and there would be more fun for us players...

Normal Servers with 64 Players are 50$ a month and that's too much for a Student who wants to host a server.

You could even do a Battlefield 1 like DLC System (If your friend has the DLC you can play on the maps).

Think about it, please 🙂

Greetings Chuck Norris

  • EA gave the middle finger to the whole BF gaming communities back when BF3 came out. Just a straight up middle finger FU to anyone who wanted to do their own server hosting. Was good times, we built large communities around servers. had thousands of unique players per month, forums, chat rooms, guys just hanging out.

BF3, "only hosts will have servers" was the spawn of the matchmaking and server rental era and EA just absolutely unequivocally did not give two wet turds about the guys who make the large communities back in the early days. We knew it then, the days of big communities wrapped around a handful of servers, customized the way you wanted, we didn't have problems with cheaters because we always had 2-3 admins online. Was the best days of PC online gaming.

Now, games like Satisfactory have dedicated servers. Like the indies get it... EA not so much. Its crazy too, because We still do COD4 servers and communities. Like EA can pound dirt, I have not bought another game from them after BF4 and never will. They lost us GenX'ers and we won't come back either, look at the garbage EA is putting now these days, they have no clue, it's just pound the people for a quick buck and once u figure out the game is garbage to bad.  So have fun with your mega toxic skibidi kiddies matchmaking BS. F EA.

I did this ( Post ), but sadly they do not seem to answer...

I do not think these changes would be that big. They would only have to make it "legal" to host your own servers because there are already tools for that, but I heard about getting banned using those.

Anyways I appreciate your answer 🙂

Unfortunately, DICE doesn't read Answers HQ, so my recommendation is post on official Battlefield forums: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/categories

Speaking about servers for Battlefield 4, DICE doesn't plan any future updates for the game. I'm not sure that they will make any similar changes for the servers. Sorry.

Let's make it great again and hopefully even greater!

Sadly Dice and EA are ignoring this... And I do not know any way to make them aware of this post...

Just moved back from BF1 to BF4. Constantly the Chuck Norris servers as Rome18. Im with Chuck here, lets make BF4 great again.

  • Does not look like EA/DICE cares about this...

@EA I know you only want to get the money and I understand it, I mean why not... But open your eyes!!! The official Battlefield Franchise is dying. Of course, BF1 is very popular and successful, but it's not a good way for Battlefield to continue in my opinion. I loved the BIG chaotic, sometimes tactical gameplay of BF4, where you were able to own the fight with some weapon skills and also getting dominated and I love to play it today also.

I think with a new concept you could higher your player base AND more importantly get more money.

With self-hosted Servers and some little modding tools, the community would be able to create a big Comeback to Battlefield 4 and I think with some Graphical work by the community many new players, also. Because you know, for the average mainstream gamer it's all about the graphics.

There would only be little development work to do and to pay nothing for it you could even do an open source project out of it.

To sum it up Dice, EA please don't let my favorite game die already (I know there are many awesome servers and also many players, but there are very few servers with the full domination of 64 players fighting...)

Greetings and please do not ignore this posting ☹️ ...

I unferstand your thoughts, but I think if they wanted they could release the server filrs and give you access to the service. The only things they are hosting so far is Battlelog with the service and the game files and I think they are getting enough money out of the game itself. They could even sell a cheap licence if you want to host a server yourself.

    Greetings
  • Even if they gave you the server files (which they won't), you wouldn't be able to access their Blaze Backend (you'll never get access to that), therefore would only be able to play locally with no online networking
