So I have installed Battlefield 4 and my settings arent saving and main menu also looks glitchy (i dont see all buttons).
Battlefield 4 folder in documents doesnt exist even that I tryed to run game, steam and origin as administrator.

(Game was bought on steam)

( I tryed  reinstalation to another driver, repairing game but nothing worked)

  • @MalivoCZ It sounds like your user doesn't have permission to write to My Documents. But I don't know why?

Can you try another user and see if it will write to Documents.

Hm, the Battlefield 4 folder in your Documents doesn't even exist. You can maybe try to disable Cloud Storage in Application Settings of Origin client and also in Game Properties by right-clicking on the game icon in your Origin Library? After this, please run Origin as Administrator and test the game.

Can you please also make sure that your Documents folder has a default path?

To check this, please press "Windows" key +"E" key and you will see a window with Documents folder, please right-click on the Documents folder and select Properties. Then, go to Location tab. In the Location tab please click on "Restore Default" button to be sure that Documents folder has a default path. Then, click on Apply button and OK button to save settings and close the window.

After that, run origin as Administrator and test the game.

Hi Travis. So cloud storage was already disabled (so I tryed turning it on and off and than I started origin as Administrator but still doesnt work) (I also tryed to run the game as Administrator but doesnt work)

Documents Folder was set on default path (but just to make sure I clicked on restore default) still doesnt work...

Maybe there is something wrong with steam? idk if it helps but I added a screenshot of the game (menu looks wierd)

Did you check yet if Battlefield 4 is running on the newest version or if there is any update available maybe?

Checking if automatic game update is enabled --> Go to Origin, at the top left, you will see the icon, just to its right, click on origin and go to the application settings, then go to update the client and check if the automatic game updates are activated. If that's activated it should keep the game uptodate anyways.

Otherwise for the current game version you can only check in the game files. There you usually have a file called like "version.json" for Battlefield 4.

    On Steam:

    1. Go to the steam library.

    2. Right click on the game of interest.

    3. Select Properties.

    4. Under the local files tab click browse local files.

    5. Right-click on the game's executable.

    6. Select Properties.

    7. Under the details tab it should have information regarding the version you're running.

(not sure what the actual version is for BF4 on PC)

    Greets,

    Travis

Are you the admin account for the PC you're using?

Cause you'll need read/write permission for settings to save in your documents folder.

    Maybe that's your case. 🙂
